The 2018 Aquarius Watercolor Show was in the main lobby of the Sangre De Cristo Art Center and hung from January till May! I was thrilled to get an Honorable Mention ribbon for my Apricots painting.
As you can see, 2017 was a very busy year for me and a lot of good things happened in my art career. Time for a little R&R! wishing you all a Happy Holiday Season and a great 2018!!
I was thankful to be invited again to the PB&T Art at Christmas Show, such a grand party! I was fortunate to get a booth on the main floor and enjoyed the company of friends I was able to invite, including but not pictured, Angela Giron and husband Steve Nawrocki our esteemed City counsel President (soon to be Mayor, hopefully) who are also our neighbors. Also My hairdresser Lisa and her husband Wesley Martinez.
I received my signature status from the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society at the November 2017 meeting. Kang Lee Sheppard presented my certificate and President Nancy Neale pinned me! To qualify for signature status you have to be a member in good standing and within 10 years have your paintings accepted into 3 national or international prescribed shows. The shows I qualified with were the 2016 Aquarius show, the 2017 PPWS International show and the2017 Kansas National show.
I was honored to have Two paintings accepted into the Kansas Watercolor Society National Exhibition at the Mark Arts gallery in Wichita KS. The show ran from November 17 2017- December 17-2017 and was juried by Soon Y. Warren. I was unable to attend the reception but the gallery looks impressive!
I was accepted into the Steel City Art Works co-op in Pueblo CO. I'm so excited to be a part of this group and to get to know other artists in Pueblo! I started in July 2017.
My first International show! Woop! Woop! What an honor to be included with all these fine paintings!
June 19th 2017 saw the opening of the Red River 24th Annual National Watermedia Showat the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead MN which included my Painting of a blue chair. The chair I got from a friend, Jan when she moved to Wisconsin. She was really touched when I gave her a print of her chair when she came back for a visit!
